TELL - Temporary External Learning Link

Program Description 2006-07

Overview
The TELL program is for students between 16 and 20 in grades 10 to 12 who have not been successful in a regular school setting or who require a flexible schedule due to family or work commitments. Students are expected to work independently and should have at least average academic ability.

TELL students normally attend 2 hours a week for each course and normally work on 1 credit at a time.

Purpose
The purpose of the TELL program is to:
· provide an alternative learning environment
· provide an opportunity for students over 16 to work on 1 credit at a time, using ILC (Independent Learning Centre) materials
· provide teacher assistance related to academic work as well as counselling related to educational and career goals
· provide an opportunity for students to combine study and work, earning co-operative education credits
· provide an “off-site” location where TELL students interact with peers in small groupings
